Haxhi Zeka University in Peja and the Institute for Economic Research and Legal Studies based in Prishtina, organize a scientific roundtable entitled:

The COVID-19 pandemic, government measures in response to the pandemic and its effect on the economy: were the measures inevitable?

What next?

This roundtable provides an opportunity for academics and researchers, community-based organizations, NGOs, policymakers, and stakeholders to discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on both public health and the economy. The roundtable will also include a discussion on measures taken by governments at the level of OECD countries, including Kosovo, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The roundtable aims to answer whether the implementation of strict measures to close sectors of the economy, protect human health and preserve the national economy was inevitable.

The Guideline for Access of Foreigners to Vocational Training and Employment has been completed and published.

The purpose of this Guideline is to assist officials dealing with integration of foreigners in social and economic life in the Republic of Kosovo, by providing knowledge on institutional responsibilities to guarantee fair and equal treatment of foreigners during the integration process according to the laws of the Republic of Kosovo and other international standards. Guideline is applicable to each institution included in the integration process of foreigners and defines steps to be taken during the integration process.

Development of the Guideline is conducted in continuous collaboration with Department for Reintegration of Repatriated Persons and Integration of Foreigners at Ministry of Internal Affairs. Preparation of the Guideline is conducted by Institute for Economic Research and Legal Studies with the support of MARDI Project at Caritas Switzerland in Kosovo.

News

According to the Kosovo Statistics Agency, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022, according to economic activities and according to the expenditure approach, with current prices and prices of the previous year, marks a real increase of 2.14% , compared to the same quarter of the previous year (Q2 2021).

IERLS is preparing for the publication of the first journal in the field of economics, business and legal studies. It is intended that the first journal of this type in Kosovo will be indexed on the SCOPUS platform in the next 3 years and in the following years also on the Web of Science. This takes time, but it will not be unattainable as the preparations have already begun.

It's a complete, integrated statistical software package, meaning it can handle almost any statistical task you need, including visualizations. For those interested, IERLS offer training on data collection and analysis using the STATA program.
